Pomoväst
The Pomoväst area comprises of seven municipalities, from Hangö in the west
to Kyrkslätt in the East. Our current local development program, Our
Westnylandic Saga" was implemented during 2001-2006,with the total sum of
3.5 million euros.
Local
conditions
In addition to financing local development projects Pomoväst is also in
charge of some projects. One example is the joint regional marketing effort
of businesses involved in tourism. The goal of this project was to market
the region as whole so that visitors would realise that they are visiting a
certain area of Finland. And also provide them with information of what is
happening in the area.

Activities
The need for a common cultural progam for the whole of Westnyland has
been discussed for a long time. Pomoväst has now taken charge o making
the program come true. Ideas for the program have been collected during
a period of time and the program is now ready.
A youth media project has also
been underway, the goal is to teach local youth how to make their own video
and how to build websites.
